Of Course He Can’t Sleep Alone

IMG_0875

I know he’s supposed to look small in his huge crib, but he actually looks just right in his bed instead of mommy’s.  But, as you can see, he’s small enough to share his bed with Mitsy.  She has spent as much time in there as Zach has!

I am pretty sure he'll never stop growing!

Two exciting notes!
First, Zach has outgrown the 0-3 month sized clothes. I don't think he has got to wear many of his things more than one time. And I KNOW there is so much he never got to wear. I look at the clothes he was in just last week and they look so small now. That was only a week ago!
Second, he spent the first night in his crib! He took to it so well. I was worried we would have a hard time adjusting, but I think we both loved it. I had my bed back! I think this is only the 2nd or 3rd night that I got to spend the whole night without him! And he slept at least five straight hours. I was worried he would wake up a lot more if he was not next to me, but I think he really likes his crib!

Pictures will be posted soon.

A picture to prove my last blog…

...now to catch the laugh on tape!

He’s really working on his laugh!

We can’t get him to laugh very often, but we' have heard it a couple times.  The first two times, it was more of a giggle, but yesterday we were playing with him and he gave us an unmistakable laugh.  I can’t wait until we can get him laughing all the time so I can post a video!

They're both getting so big!

It's been a little bit since I posted. We had a couple of days there where Zach's schedule was off for some reason, but I think we're good now! (Hopefully) I think it was his way of showing me I was getting way too used to all of this sleep.
My nieces, Bree and Caitlin, were over today. Bree's going to take a class to become a certified babysitter and I think she will do a great job. (We'll be inviting her over a little more often, haha) I can't believe Bree is going to be in seventh grade next year! I was her age when I started babysitting her and her siblings. Now I have a kid of my own that she's ready to start training to babysit! Man how time flies...

01.06.09

Almost seven hours last night! And I'm not sure Zach would have even woke up that soon if it wasn't for his mommy getting out of bed for a minute. It seems he won't sleep without me next to him lately.
Zach and I went for our first walk together today. I promise he liked it so much more then he's trying to tell you in the picture! (I love how his eskimo outfit swallows him.) He liked the walk so much, in fact, that at the end of the walk he was sound asleep. Actually, he was asleep about one minute after the picture was taken. And then he stayed asleep long enough for mom to take a shower, make a bookmark, and clean the bathroom. And even after that he has only been up for no more than 30 minutes at a time. Just enough to eat. Hopefully he sleeps good enough tonight after sleeping all day long.

The direction is changing a little bit

I started this as a photo blog and although I'm sure there will be many more pictures to come, that won't be my focus. I want a place to record what's going on in Zach's life and to be able to easily keep everyone updated.
I was happy to wake up this morning after 8 hours of sleep! I never expected to feel this rested with a one month old baby. Then he filled his belly up and went back to sleep for 3 more hours.
I put zach on a scale with me yesterday. I won't tell how much I weighed, but he weighs 12.5 pounds already! I can't believe how fast he's growing and how much he's eating! His daddy said he had to feed him the whole two hours I was gone today. It will be interesting to see what his weight will be at his 2 month appointment.
Hopefully I will be able to stay on top of updating this blog. If not, I can think of a couple of people who might keep me on it! ;-p
